Ok, Sustainche™ & Lisa are well aware that many community members really enjoyed voting on ‘The Mopane Worms Episode’, and expectations are high to see another picture puzzle. Other community members cannot wait to see the next Sustainche Farm™ Products Episode being published. Be ensured, both your wishes are our commands !

Having in mind the project schedule and knowing that the Sustainche Farm™ Project in August 2011 will enter its three months ‘Mobilization Phase’, thus making major efforts to attract more Sustainche Farm™ community members, Sustainche & Lisa thought that is very important to now give the project a consolidated direction.

After one year Sustainche & Lisa again read what is called Namibia’s Vision 2030. This is something like a National Strategy for Sustainable Development describing how Namibia should look like in the year 2030. Concordantly, we need to ask:

How should Sustainche Farm™ look like in 2030 ?

By asking this question we can at least satisfy the first wish of having a voting again, even though for now it won’t be a picture puzzle voting 😉

Namibia’s Vision 2030 is absolutely clear: By 2030 Namibia shall become an industrialized country ! This is emphasized by the statement on page 28: “Off-farm livelihood options are created so that subsistence agriculture is almost non-existent.”

Well, Sustainche Farm™ today represents typical subsistence agriculture which describes the fact that farming is self-sufficiency and the farmer family focuses on growing enough food to feed the family. So, what to start doing NOW with Sustainche Farm™ while anticipating the developments during the next 19 years ? Following Namibia’s Vision 2030 ? Having alternatives to exclusively industrialized farming ? Or what … ? Let’s formulate the following options:
